Removal

Remove the wheel and tire.
Refer to: Wheel and Tire (204-04A Wheels and Tires, Removal and Installation).

NOTICE:
Make sure that no load is placed on the brake hose.
Remove the brake caliper guide pin bolts and position the brake caliper aside.
Torque:
19 lb.ft (26 Nm)

NOTE:
Note the position of each component before removal.
Remove the brake pads.

NOTE:
Note the position of each component before removal.
Remove the top and bottom brake pad clips.

NOTICE:
Protect the caliper pistons and boots when pushing the caliper piston into the caliper piston bores.
Use a C-clamp and a worn brake pad to compress the brake caliper pistons into the brake caliper bore.
Installation

NOTE:
Make sure that the mating faces are clean and free of foreign material.
Clean the mating surfaces.

Install the brake pad shims as shown.
-
To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Depress the brake pedal, check the brake fluid level in
the brake fluid reservoir and top up as necessary with brake fluid.

Master Cylinder
NOTE:
When a new brake master cylinder has been installed, it
should be primed to prevent air from entering the system.
NOTE:
Make sure the area around the master cylinder cap is clean and free of foreign material.
Remove the brake fluid reservoir cap.
