WARNING:
Before beginning any service procedure in this section, refer to
Safety Warnings in section 100-00 General Information. Failure to
follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

Remove the bolts and the roll restrictor bracket.
-
Remove the bolts and the slave cylinder.
-
Install the special tool on the clutch housing and install the
transmission on a bench. Remove and discard the RH halfshaft seal and
the transmission case bolts.
Install Special Service Tool: 307-003

Holding Fixture, Transmission.

Remove the bolts and remove the shift cable brackets.
-
NOTE:
Make sure that the selector lever is in the neutral (N) position.
Position the selector mechanism in neutral, remove the bolts and remove selector mechanism.

Install new transmission shaft support bolts.
-
Remove and discard the transmission case bolts and the halfshaft seal.
-
Remove and discard the transmission case bolts and remove the transmission case.

NOTE:
Note the position of the lube tube for assembly.
Remove the lube tube and the magnet from the transmission case.

Remove the reverse shift fork and the reverse synchronizer detents and the sleeve.

NOTE:
The differential ring gear may hang up on the shaft assemblies.
Remove the input and output shaft assemblies.

Position aside the differential.
-
Remove the reverse idler gear.
-
Remove the differential.
-
Using a punch, drive the differential bearing cup and shim
out of the clutch housing. Remove and discard the bearing cup and the
shim.
Use the General Equipment: Punch

Remove and discard the lube funnel. Remove and discard the front output shaft roller bearing.

Remove and discard the input shaft front bearing and seal.
Use the General Equipment: Punch

Remove the shift rod bushing from the clutch housing.
Use the General Equipment: Puller

Remove and discard the differential bearing cup from the transmission case.
Use the General Equipment: Punch

Remove the shift rod bushing from the transmission case.
Use the General Equipment: Puller

Remove the selector mechanism bearing.
Use the General Equipment: Puller
