Ford Fiesta: Seatbelt Systems / Seatbelt Retractor and Pretensioner. Removal and Installation
Removal
NOTE:
Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

Depower the SRS .
Refer to: Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Depowering and Repowering
(501-20B Supplemental Restraint System, General Procedures).

NOTE:
To avoid damage to the trim panels, remove the
retainers from the body and attach them to the trim panels before
installing.

Detach the weatherstrips and position aside.
-
Release the retainers and remove the scuff plates.
-
Release the retainers and remove the B-pillar trim panel.
-
NOTE:
Inspect the seatbelt D-ring cover for damage and replace D-ring cover if damaged.
Remove the D-ring bolt cover.
-
Remove the D-ring bolt and position the seatbelt aside.
Torque:
30 lb.ft (40 Nm)

Remove the bolt.
Torque:
30 lb.ft (40 Nm)
-
Passenger side.
Disconnect the electrical connector.

NOTICE:
Do not pull the electrical connector out by the locking button. Damage to the locking button can occur.

Disconnect the electrical connector.
-
Passenger side.
Disconnect the electrical connector.
-
Remove the pin-type retainer and position the seatbelt aside.
-
Remove the seatbelt retractor and pretensioner.
-
Remove the bolt.
Torque:
124 lb.in (14 Nm)
-
Remove the bolt and seatbelt retractor and pretensioner.
Torque:
30 lb.ft (40 Nm)
Installation
-
NOTE:
During installation, make sure the seatbelt webbing
is not twisted and the seatbelts and buckles are accessible to the
occupants.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Repower the SRS .

Check the seatbelt system for correct operation.
