Ford Fiesta: Seatbelt Systems / Rear Center Seatbelt Retractor - 5-Door. Removal and Installation

Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

1. Remove the 60 percent backrest.
   Refer to: Rear Seat Backrest (501-10 Seating, Removal and Installation).
   

1. Remove the rear center seatbelt guide bezel.
   

1. Remove the bolt and the seat backrest hinge.
   Torque: 28 lb.ft (38 Nm)

1. On both sides.
   Remove the child safety seat tether anchor covers.
   

1. Release the J-clip, unzip and invert the backrest cover.
   

1. 1. Lift the backrest cover.
      
   2. Remove the seatbelt retractor bolt.
      Torque: 35 lb.ft (48 Nm)

1. • Remove and discard the bolt retainer.
     
   • Position the bolt aside.
     
   • Remove the belt buckle.
     
   • Route the seatbelt through the guide.
     

1. Remove the rear center seatbelt retractor.
   

Installation

1. NOTE: During installation, make sure the seatbelt webbing is not twisted and the seatbelts and buckles are accessible to the occupants.

   To install, reverse the removal procedure.
   

1. Check the seatbelt system for correct operation.
