Ford Fiesta: Evaporative Emissions - 1.6L EcoBoost (132kW/180PS) – Sigma / Evaporative Emission Canister. Removal and Installation

Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
    Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview (100-02 Jacking and Lifting, Description and Operation).
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
    Refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect (414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables, General Procedures).
  1. NOTE: Clean the EVAP canister immediate surrounding area of any dirt or foreign material.

    1. Disconnect the EVAP canister quick connect couplings and the EVAP canister electrical connector.
      Refer to: Quick Release Coupling (310-00B Fuel System - General Information - 1.6L EcoBoost (132kW/180PS) – Sigma, General Procedures).
    • Remove the nuts and the EVAP canister.
      Torque: 35 lb.in (4 Nm)

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

    Remove the battery tray.
