Removal

NOTE: Removal steps in this procedure may contain installation details.

  1. Remove the front bumper cover.
    Refer to: Front Bumper Cover (501-19 Bumpers, Removal and Installation).
  1. Remove the front impact severity sensor.
    Refer to: Front Impact Severity Sensor (501-20B Supplemental Restraint System, Removal and Installation).
  1. Remove the headlamp assembly.
    Refer to: Headlamp Assembly (417-01 Exterior Lighting, Removal and Installation).
  1. Disconnect the horn electrical connector.
  1. Separate the front bumper cover wiring harness electrical connector from the upper air deflector.
  1. NOTE: On both sides

    Remove the upper air deflector pin-type retainers and the radiator grille opening panel reinforcement to front bumper bolts.
    Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)
  1. Remove the lower air deflector pin-type retainers.
  1. Remove the bolts and the front bumper.
    Torque: 18 lb.ft (25 Nm)

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

    Remove the nuts and position aside the remote brake fluid reservoir.
    Torque: 62 lb.in (7 Nm) Remove the strut and spring assembly upper mount nuts.
    Torque: 22 lb.ft (30 Nm)
